Choose a generator, change the settings, print. Here is what happens at each step.

Three steps

Every generator on the site works the same way, which means once you have used one you can use all of them.

1. Choose a generator

Pick by subject from the menu, or by the grade you teach. The tool opens immediately — there is nothing to install, no account to create, and no trial period.

2. Customise it

Each generator exposes the settings that genuinely change the printable: number range, fill style, difficulty, line height, how many to a page. The preview redraws as you change a setting, so what you see is what will come out of the printer rather than a generic illustration of what it might look like.

3. Print or save

Print straight from the browser, or use your browser's print dialog to save a PDF. Everything is laid out for US Letter portrait with half-inch margins unless the printable genuinely needs landscape.

Getting a clean print

Two browser settings cause most printing problems, and both are in the print dialog rather than on this site.

• Scale should be 100%, not "fit to page". Fit-to-page shrinks the sheet and throws off the measured line heights that handwriting practice depends on.
• Background graphics should be on if you want shaded cells to appear. If you would rather save toner, leave it off and turn on the generator's own ink-saver setting, which converts shading to hairline rules that survive a photocopier.

What happens to what you type

The generators run entirely in your browser. Student names, class lists and word lists are never sent to a server, are not logged, and disappear when you close the tab. This is also why there is no way to save a chart and come back to it later — the trade-off is deliberate.
